Athanasia was born in 1989, in Patras, Greece.

She studied Plant Biotechnology in the Agricultural University of Athens, and she holds a PhD in Agrobiodiversity from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa, Italy. Since 2019, she lives and works in Chania, Greece.

She started exploring photography in 2012, and in 2021 she joined the local photography club in Chania (LE.F.KI.), in which she is currently an active member. In June 2022, two of her photographs were exhibited in the group exhibition of LE.F.KI. with the title “HOME”, while these photos were also exhibited in Photometria Photo Festival (Ioannina, Greece) the same year. In 2023 she participated in the first Chania Photodays (May 2023, Chania, Crete, Greece) presenting a handmade cyanotype dummy entitled “Breaking Point”. The same year she got accepted at Curae 2023/24 Online Masterclass On Curatorial Practice from PhMuseum (Bologna, Italy).

Currently, she is developing a new project entitled "What, I wonder, is the color of feeling?" under the supervision of Costis Antoniadis. This work will be presented in the second Chania Photodays, in May 2024 (Chania, Crete, Greece).

She enjoys shooting film, and she prefers Kodak Gold over Fujicolor.
